How to Join

Membership of The Hydrographic Society UK is available to anyone (or any company/institution) interested in hydrography.

There are two categories of membership: Individual (including Retired and Student sub-categories) and Corporate. The benefits of membership are summarised below. A Membership Application pack and/or appropriate standing order mandate can also be downloaded at the bottom of this page.

Individual

As an individual member you will receive:

One free copy of the THS UK quarterly newsletter Soundings.
One free copy of The Hydrographic Journal (and Information Bulletin) which is published by the International Federation of Hydrographic Societies.
Access to the THS UK e-Bulletin (sign up using the button at the bottom of the menu)
Admittance at preferential discount to special events such as international/national symposia, seminars, workshops and Regional meetings.
Purchase at preferential discount of Special Publications and Proceedings of symposia and workshops.
Inclusion in list of Society members as and when published.
Opportunity to seek employment via the Jobs page and/or via the Information Bulletin in The Hydrographic Journal or Soundings at preferential rates.

The Individual membership subscription rate is £70 (or £65 if paid by standing order). The rate for Retired members is £35 (or £32 if paid by standing order). For Student members the rate is £32 (payment must be made by cash, cheque or credit card only - no standing orders). The membership year runs from 1st April to 31st March.

Corporate

As a Corporate member you will receive:

One free copy of the THS UK quarterly newsletter Soundings.
Two free copies of The Hydrographic Journal (and Information Bulletin) which is published by the International Federation of Hydrographic Societies.
The opportunity to publish press releases on the News pages of this website and in the THS UK e-Bulletin.
Reduced rates for advertising or insert material appearing in Soundings or The Hydrographic Journal.
The opportunity to include banner advertisements in Soundings - this also entitles you to a free upgraded listing on the Corporate Members page, including a hotlink to your website.
Access to the THS UK e-Bulletin (sign up using the button at the bottom of the menu).
Use of Society logo for display purposes.
Inclusion in the list of Corporate members, as and when published.
Reduced rates for exhibiting at Society and International Federation symposia, seminars and workshops.
Admittance at preferential discount to special events such as international/national symposia, seminars, workshops and Regional meetings.
Purchase at preferential discount of Special Publications and Proceedings of symposia and workshops.
Opportunity to advertise vacancies on the Jobs page and/or in Soundings or The Hydrographic Journal at preferential rates.
Opportunity to advertise courses and/or educational programmes on the Training & Courses page at preferential rates.

The Corporate membership subscription rate is £320 (or £300 is paid by standing order). The rate for Associate Corporate members is £160 (or £150 if paid by standing order). The membership year runs from 1st April to 31st March.
